A Wild Surge Occurred:

Time Stop

In November 2016, I sent Julius Borisov, the community manager of the Beamdog forums, a message regarding resurrecting The Familiar Magazine they released for two issues. My goal was to help turn that
magazine into a fan submission magazine, show Julius how deadlines for such a project should be approached, and bow out after the second
issue, on Dwarves, was released, letting him and the Beamdog community showcase their talents.

It didn’t turn out that way, and two and half years later, I am thankful. Due to copyright issues, we needed to rebrand The Familiar, and the community chose the name Wild Surge from over a hundred submissions,
narrowly beating out The Monthly Turnip (thankfully) to guide the magazine and the community into the future.

Since then, we explored topics ranging all over the place from Sound and Neverwinter, to Dwarves and Giants, to Loot and Spirits and Ghosts. And we thank you for taking this journey with us and supporting us.

After a lot of thought and reflection between Tilly and I, and due to personal time constraints on my part, this issue will be our last issue as we put the magazine on hiatus.

If you have any questions or concerns about our decision, please feel free to reach out to us on the forums or email us at the.wild.surge@gmail.com.

Once again, thank you for all the support you have shown over years and for being the awesome community that you are.
