This publication is published by the Beamdog community. The opinions expressed in this magazine are those of the authors and do not reflect the opinion of Beamdog, Wizards of the Coast, or any of their affiliates. Back in November 2016, Beamdog was approached with a proposal to resurrect The Familiar Magazine into a fan made publication. The goal was to turn the publication away from news about Beamdog into a magazine that highlights the skill and creativity fostered by the community of the Beamdog Forums.

Beamdog liked the idea and was supportive of its resurrection, with Trent Oster, founder of Beamdog, writing the original foreword for the magazine. Unfortunately, beyond ours and Beamdog's control, The Familiar as we rebranded it could not be published under that name. Distraught at losing the hard work the community did, we published the magazine sans a name early in 2017.

We decided to let the community name the magazine for the next issue, and Wild Surge was chosen. Keeping with the same concept as the first issue, we continue to release issues every two months. The articles reflect what we think fans of Infinity Engine games would enjoy, ranging from game reviews, to modding tutorials, to essays on fantasy literature, to custom D&D house rules.

Come 2018, we will be keeping with the themed issues we have been doing in the past. Those themes will be listed here after our December 2017 issue on Sound. If you would like to help out with any of the issues, feel free to contact us at the.wild.surge@gmail.com.

Thank you for your continued support.
